Resistance launches offensive into Eastern Baghlan

The National Resistance Front launched an offensive into eastern Baghlan Province today, due north of Panjshir. The initial target is Khost wa Fereng District, situated in the Hindu Kush mountains. Clashes with the Taliban have been reported – this story will be updated with more details as events develop.

Update (08/31): The resistance has retreated from Khost wa Fereng and all other advanced positions in Baghlan Province in order to preserve its forces and consolidate other fronts.
