Peace talks suspended after Kabul Airport attack
Updated: Sep 24, 2021
Negotiations between the National Resistance Front and the Taliban have been broken off after Thursday’s Kabul Airport attack. Launched by ISIS-K, the attack killed over 150 people, including 13 Americans. Regardless of whether one considers the Taliban itself a terrorist organisation, this incident proves that Taliban rule in Afghanistan—which began with the release of thousands of imprisoned fighters belonging to ISIS and affiliated organisations—will once more create the conditions for terrorism to thrive. The suspension of negotiations means that the National Resistance Front immediately returns to a war posture – your support is needed now more than ever.
