In memoriam: 9/11/2001, a day the National Resistance Front is fighting to see never repeated
Updated: Sep 24
On the eve of September 11th, the men and women of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan wish to convey once more their sorrow and sympathy to the nations who lost innocent lives 20 years ago, especially the United States. Our grief is doubled by the return to power of the Taliban and their Al-Qaeda allies, who conspired to launch these attacks, and the West's inaction in supporting the Afghan people currently resisting them. We know this to be in part because some in the West are inclined to trust the Taliban's promises for women's rights and international security.
We ask this: if the German government of 1933–1945 had returned to power in 1965 and pledged "tolerance" and peace, would France have trusted it? Would Poland? We think not. And yet some seriously consider affording the Taliban that privilege. We particularly caution the United States and the United Kingdom, the two nations who bore the greatest loss on 9/11, against allowing the conditions that were in place in the lead-up to that day to exist again. The National Resistance Front is doing everything in our power to prevent it, but we need your support.
