Decisive tactical victory in Banu

Updated: Sep 24

On Friday, the Northern Alliance recaptured Banu, Pol-e-Hesar, and De Salah districts in Baghlan. The Taliban district chief for Banu was killed, as were 60 other Taliban fighters. Only one resistance member was killed and six wounded, demonstrating the tactical superiority of Northern Alliance forces over the untrained Taliban. Much of the elite Afghan Commando Corps, which trained and fought side-by-side with the UK's Special Air Service, has joined the resistance, and these events only add to their extensive list of victories over the Taliban.
