120 Taliban prisoners of war taken in defensive victories

Updated: Sep 24

In the last several days' fighting that has been marked by strong defensive victories for the National Resistance Front, over one hundred Taliban fighters have been captured along with several armoured vehicles and artillery pieces. These prisoners of war will be treated in accordance with international conventions, notwithstanding the Taliban's own history of war crimes (including the illegal killing of 12 ex-Afghan National Army soldiers in Kandahar just this week). The Taliban must respect the lives of former ANA soldiers, as the resistance has done for their captured soldiers in Panjshir.
